The weather in Mallorca: all you need to know
Mallorca, as you know, is a beautiful Mediterranean island. Its stunning landscape, charming villages, Cosmopolitan capital city and lovely people win over thousands of hearts every year and it has become one of the favourite holiday-destinations for tourists all over Europe and the world.
And if you’re not quiet sure about when to come visit, you’d probably would like to know more about an important issue when choosing your holiday destination: the weather.
The weather on this beautiful island called Mallorca is one of the main attractions for many visitors enjoying the beauty of the Mediterranean. Its climate falls into the category of temperate subtropical, which means hot summers and short, generally mild winters (although recent winters have featured some short uncharacteristically cold snaps – and even some light snow in places outside of the Tramuntana mountain range!).
But even though winter isn’t something we can get away from, Mallorca still manages to have about 300 days of sunshine a year. This means that on cold winter days, the sun still manages to shine to bring some joy to visitors exploring the island on colder days. Summer is, of course, the hottest season on the island, from July until September temperatures go all the way up 30+ °C and give us warm nights with an average night-temperature of 20°. Surprisingly in August there’s a risk of occasional thunderstorms and brief downpours later in the month.
Autumn in Mallorca is pleasantly warm and has tons of sunny days, even though it’s the wettest season on the island with heavy storms and occasional winds
And spring is known for many as the perfect season on the island: blue skies, warm sunshine and not much rain. Expect an average high temperature of 22°C.
