XXIV Playa de Palma Mallorca Cycling Challenge gets underway
Next week, between 29th January and 1st February, a variety of venues in Mallorca will host the races of the XXIV Playa de Palma Mallorca Cycling Challenge (more info here).
This is the first official competition in the 2015 UCI Europe Tour calendar and an event that attracts the best pro cyclists on the international scene to the island. This year the national squads of Spain, Britain and Russia, among other outstanding teams, will all be taking part.
To ensure you don’t miss a single race, make a note of the dates of Challenge Mallorca 2015:
Thursday, January 29: Ses Salines-Santanyí-Campos Trophy, 175 kms.
Friday, January 30: Andratx – Mirador d’Es Colomer Trophy, 149 kms.
Saturday January 31: Serra de Tramuntana Trophy, 165 kms.
Sunday February 1: Playa de Palma-Palma Trophy, 168 kms.
As a new aspect of the event, on 1st February, when the excitement builds to a crescendo in Playa de Palma, a Cycling Challenge for kids has been scheduled. This will give junior riders the chance to show their prowess on the Palma seafront.
The Playa de Palma’s Hoteliers’ Association is one of the sponsors of the Mallorca Challenge 2015 and some hotels in the area, including our very own Pabisa Bali, are acting as host hotels. To reflect the sponsorship the name of the race has changed, hence the inclusion of “Playa de Palma” in the official title.
Here at Pabisa Hotels we are passionate about sport in general and cycling in particular. It is therefore a source of pride for us to strive every year to provide the best and most comprehensive offer as a hotel for cyclists in Mallorca.
Among the innovations we are introducing for 2015, it’s worth highlighting that on 28th of January we’ll be opening a permanent office and media room for the Mallorca Challenge in our Pabisa Bali hotel.
If you love cycling, you can count on Pabisa Hotels to provide you with the inside track. Don’t miss this sporting spectacular, which not only exemplifies the competitive spirit, but is also a striking example of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
And if you can’t attend the event in person, don’t forget you can track its progress by following the official Twitter hashtag #challengemallorca2015.
