Traditional fairs and markets that you cannot miss this November in Mallorca
One of the best ways to explore a destination is through its food, and to do so, there’s no better way than visiting its local markets. In the markets of Mallorca you will find the most typical and freshest products of the island, brought directly by local farmers.
The Mallorcan market which is closest to our hotel is s’Arenal market. This market, which specializes in fruits and vegetables, opens every Thursday until 2pm. You can also visit Palma’s municipal markets – our favorite ones are the Mercat de l’Olivar and Santa Catalina’s. You can also walk around the weekly markets, which are organized once a week in almost every town in Mallorca.
Apart from this type of Mallorcan markets, November brings many traditional fairs and festivals that coincide with the harvest time and therefore normally focus on a certain typical product or elaboration. The main festivals in Mallorca in November are:
12th / Dijous Bo (Inca): The most important traditional fair of Mallorca, and one of the best events for trying black pork sobrasada for the first time (directions).
15th / Pumpkin Festival (Muro): Do not miss its pumpkin contest, wine and cheese tasting, or the gastronomic contest of dishes cooked with this vegetable (directions).
21st and 22nd / XVIII Olive Fair (Selva): Agricultural festival in Caimari to celebrate the end of the olive harvest (directions).
22nd / Santa Catalina fair (Bunyola): Craft fair, which also focuses on mountain sports and hunting (directions).
28th / “Novell” wine Festival (Santa Maria del Cami): If you have not tried the Mallorcan wines, a visit to this oenological fair is mandatory (directions).
You can visit any of these markets and traditional festivals in Mallorca by taking buses number 15 or 21 to Plaza España (Palma), and then taking another bus to anywhere on the island.
Take advantage of our Sweet November Offer and enjoy a well-deserved rest by the sea.
