Cycling Race – Mallorca Classic by Max Hürzeler

One of the most important cycling events in Mallorca, the Mallorca Classic by Max Hürzeler race, took place this past Sunday, 30 March 2014, for the 5th consecutive year. A total of 312 international cyclists participated in this race over 100 km and 1,750 metres difference in altitude. The fastest cyclist was German Daniel Knyss of the Merkur Cycling Team with a time of 3:07:02, second was Mathias Nothegger and third Friedrich Schweizer.

Like last year, the finish line as well as the event location before and after the race was Nova Beach Park, right on the beach of Playa de Palma, Mallorca. The traditional “Pasta Party” with pasta and sausages for all the participants took place here and most of the participants stayed to discuss and analyze the results and performances of the day in a relaxed atmosphere.
